Any way, do you know him?

It is a picture of Hakuho, a Mongolian, a Yokozuna, the sixty-ninth grand champion sumo wrestler. I think you all saw the news when he became yokozuna, just few weeks ago. I hope you all know Asashoryu, he too the Mongolian, the yokozuna, is being in that position for about four and a half years. It was called, "The time of one Yokozuna" because actually, there must be two yokozuna in a grand sumo tournament, but there weren't.


Do you know what really sumo is like?
Let me explain it.

Sumo is a traditional Japanese combative sport like wrestling and considered a Japanese national sport. Rikishi, the wrestlers, have a topknot and wear a belt and make ritualistic movements on the ring. Professional sumo wrestlers compete in six grand tournaments held during the course of a year.

Did you get it?

I got interested in sumo when I was in a primary school. In fourth grade, I first had a sumo bout at a tournament called, "Wanpaku Sumo," and I won the tournament and became a yokozuna of that year. I took part in that tournament the following year too, and surprisingly, again became the yokozuna!! Probably, I had a talent of having a sumo bout...
